IN QUAKES STADIUM (August 19, 2006) — As New Orleans prepares for the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Johnnie Proby is still doing her part to help spread love and hope to her native state of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. This Sunday, August 20th, is the Youth4Katrina night at Quakes Stadium. CNN is providing a stage for Youth4Katrina to spread their mission nationwide. What exactly is their mission? To promote the Youth4Katrina benefiting Habitat for Humanity, which is to raise funds to rebuild a home in Biloxi, Mississippi and to promote awareness of the current status of the Gulf Coast of the United States. Having been to Louisiana and Mississippi several times in the past few months, Johnnie has seen first hand the devastation and the slow rebuilding process, and is mindful of all that still needs to be done. “I am grateful for Youth4Katrina’s vision and contribution towards this rebuilding effort,” says Johnnie. Youth4Katrina also seeks to inspire kids in other parts of the country to do a Youth4Katrina stand in their own hometown. Learn more by visiting www.youth4katrina.com.
